I am fascinated by texture and shape
The Artists bio
After a lengthy career break from the world of tax and finance, to bring up my family, the time was right for a new challenge and I found myself in the position of following my passion and my dream. Despite no formal art training, I was accepted to study jewellery design and manufacture, and spent three incredible years studying full-time in Glasgow to learn the skills and necessities of the trade.
I have always looked at my surroundings and taken inspiration from what is around me, feeling privileged and humbled by what I find . I am fascinated by texture and shape, enjoying materials which are unusual and tactile and appear as if they have they have their own story to tell. The Ayrshire coastline, where I live, features heavily in my work. As well as the beautiful scenery, the area is steeped in history and heritage and rich in inspiration.
Coming from, and returning to live by the seaside has allowed my work to reflect this both through design and materials used, giving my jewellery an organic and natural feel.
