Light is very important to the artist
The Artists bio
Since returning to Scotland from an adventure in Spain, Jane Ross has been painting trees in acrylics. The harsh landscapes signifying the barrenness of the land and the round discs the fruit. Metal lines implying the barbed wire and the difficulties of attainability.
The landscapes are evolving to more Scottishy colours and the fruits are softening using elements from seed heads and flowers, applying fabric paints to make a more tactile painting.
Light is very important to the artist and the use of metallic paints means the lustre moves with the viewer giving different shades and tones.
