This is an experimental acrylic and mixed media painting inspired by the words of acclaimed early 20th Century poet, Nan Shepherd.
I explore her love of walking in the high, bleak places where she felt truly herself. In the painting, I depict a high altitude tarn of icy brackish water with snatches of verse to evoke the feeling of this truly wild place.
Mixed media with texture.
Glazed in a buff/off white wooden frame with silver slip.
