The heat of the kiln works its magic to physically distort ordinary linear patterns of stringers and sheet glass into repeating sinuous shapes resembling magnifying lenses in this oblong tray.
Using only two basic colours, reactions between the chemical constituents of the different colours of glass produced this blue, white and steel blue effect.
