Helen is a Scottish artist based in East Ayrshire working in watercolour, mixed media, acrylics, and pastels. Her work is inspired by a deep love of nature, and the ever-changing beauty of Scotland’s landscapes and beaches.
Balancing a full-time job with her creative practice, Helen makes the most of every opportunity to paint. Much of her inspiration comes from her own garden and from walks through the countryside with her beloved collie Jim, who patiently waits while she sketches or takes photographs. These moments are later developed into paintings in her garden studio, where initial observations are transformed into finished pieces.
Helen’s work includes landscapes, coastal scenes, sheep, and botanical illustrations, all reflecting a close connection to the natural world. In addition to paper and canvas, she also paints on slates, creating decorative pieces designed to brighten gardens through the winter months.
